Congratulations to our Cape Aquatics swimmers who made this year’s News-Press All-Area Stars Swimmers.

FIRST TEAM HONORS:

Emma Best:
Junior, Cape Coral High School, 2nd in 200 Free at District and 3rd in Regions, 2nd in 100 Fly at District and 2nd at Regions, at State finished 10th in 100 Free with personal best (1:53.52) and 13th in the 100 Butterfly also a member of the Cape Coral 200 & 400 Free Relays which finished 8th and 7th at States.

Daynna Franklyn:
Freshman, Cape Coral High School, swam on both Seahawks’ state medaling relay teams and qualified for the Class 3A meet in the 50 free and 100 free. At districts, she came in third in the 50 free and fourth in the 100 free.

Sophie Pellegrino:
Senior, Cape Coral High School, earned a state medal as a member of the Seahawks’ 400-free relay team at the Class 3A meet. She qualified for states in 200 IM and 100 back, where she came in third and fourth at districts, respectively.

Second Team Honors:

Skye Persechino:
Freshman, Oasis Charter High School, at District 1st place in 200 and 500 Free with Oasis records, placed 7th in both events at the Regional meet with a school record in the 500 Free.

Aayden Dugan:
Freshman, Cape Coral High School, at LCAC 2ND in 200 I.M. and 3rd in 100 Back, at District 4th in 100 Fly and 2nd in 200 I.M. and at State 7th in the 200 I.M.
