SWIM FLORIDA’S 50th ANNIVERSARY BANQUET

The Swim Florida 50th Anniversary Banquet was a sold-out success. The event featured numerous raffle baskets, great food, awards for all swimmers, recognition of our championship qualifiers, high school swimmers, graduating seniors and new inductees to the Swim Florida Hall of Fame. Guest speakers included Swim Florida Hall of Famer and CEO of Captiva Bank, Kyle DeCicco, the Mayor of Fort Myers, Kevin B. Anderson and former Swim Florida, Fort Myers High School and Stamford University 200-yard Backstroke NCAA champion and American record holder, Derek Weatherford. Approximately 400 people attended the banquet with photographs being taken by Mike Bradley’s Visualanties (visualanties.com).

Our very own Naval Lieutenant Jack Pelegrino was inducted into the Swim Florida Hall of Fame, and Sophie Pellegrino spoke as a graduating senior heading to the University of Mary.
