Emma Best had an outstanding showing at the 2024 Southern South Sectional Championships in Ocala. The meet attracted swimmers from Iowa, Ohio, Connecticut, Georgia and New Jersey in addition to Florida Swimming and Gold Coast Swimming. At the first session Emma was in attack mode lowering her personal best and team record in the 200-Meter Freestyle with a time of 2:10.98 (-5.13). In the 200-Meter Butterfly, Emma lowered her personal best and the team record in the prelims with a time of 2:32.80 (-4.19) and then lowered her time again with a 2:30.54 in finals. Emma came back her second day with her sights set on showing what she can do. In the 100-Meter Free she again broke both her best time and team record with a 1:00.85 (-.89). In her fourth event, Emma went four for four establishing both a personal best and team record in the 100-Meter Backstroke finishing with 1:10.81 (-.67). Emma’s commitment to swimming has paid off big time. Well done, Emma!
